Cris Burkhalter’s Odd Sox Photo Fest

Click for more of the Heidelberg Show

Last week, we stopped by to visit with our dear friend, and old Odd Sox photographer, Cris Burkhalter, who lent us his book of negatives in order to pick out something nice for the Son of Song cover. I have been scanning negatives with every spare minute I can find - here is a sample of his work from the ever crowded Heidelberg Club.

Frank and Sox - 1990 CMU Mayfest - Part 4

Our set starts to heat back up a bit with Cash for My Car and I Doubt It, My Sweetheart.

Frank and Rob at the Cava Java 1/27/94

I just got a big box of dats from our good friend Dan Mahoney. They are live, (mostly) coffee house shows, (mostly) from the mid 90’s.

Here are 3 songs from Cava Java 1/27/94 - featuring Rob Hejna on drums - this was recorded direct to dat by Tim Feldkamp using tie-tacs. Tim was at all the shows, so I hope he was taping all the time!!!

 25% - DispellerHanna’s Banana (lyrics)

I had no recording of Hanna (at least that I know of - I have boxes of unmarked tapes). I had simply forgotten about it. Excepting the verse, it was like hearing one of my songs for the first time. Very cool. THANKS GUYS!!!!

Also - Karie typed out the lyrics to all the songs on the Pig Out album for our pal Marty who emailed from the Virgin Islands. Find the lyrics by going to the sitemap.
