I have been out in the weeds again - check out a few of the gazillion photos I took this week.

I am just finishing shooting photos for the cover of World is Out the Window.  I still need to finish up a couple vocals and mixes, as well as the cover layout.

I have been diligently copying Cris Burkhalter’s negs for the past month and am less than half way through - he took these great photos in May 1991 - click the photo to see the whole series.

Julian Art - Scribble Dibble, pt. 1

Julian has been through a couple new phases in his art since my last posting of his work. He went through a lovely, wavey lines period for a week or so. He was using Christmas markers, but they finally lost their color, or just got lost. Then he went through a presidential/money period. We have lot of little 2″ x 3″ hand drawn bills littering the floor. Today he started his Scribble Dibble  period:

Art - Julian’s Christmas Book for Gramma

Gramma had to go to the hospital for some pretty serious surgery - she is doing well. While we paced, restless and confused, Julian began work on this get well book, which really has kept Gramma and her nurses happy. Go Julie!

Julian also had a passing idea about a king who builds his throne bigger and more impressive until he finally falls off it and dies - it’s a pretty good idea, he must have got it from tv??? hmmm…

CLICK IT AGAIN

When I first met Dan, his famous yellow bug had a blue door. I backed the van into it on the way to gig at Wiard’s Orchard. Then it had a red hood and blue door. Later, I bought the bug from Dan. I drove it for a couple weeks, ’til one of the rubberbands snapped. I was far less handy than Dan, and could not figure out how to fix the poor machine. It rusted for a couple years outside my room. It had weeds and bees living inside it. A greasy guy in coveralls eventually came and took it away. I bet he wonders why he has so much fun in it.

News - Monkey Biz Cover Art

Monkey Business and Hokey Smoke are now available electronically at iTunes (US and UK/Euro), Rhapsody, emusic and Amazon - and to help encourage you into buying them, here is the entire cover from the 1988 LP - I took the front cover off the CD release - because, as you will see in the rest of the scans, an LP doesn’t quite fit on the scanner bed!

Art - Sickly Vacation Bugger

We closed the theater for ten days of fun and sun! The kids packed the camping gear (plus 50 pounds of kid essentials), Karie and I googled up some beaches, hotel b-plans, and driving directions. We were all ready to shoot the rest of World in the Sea (while we still had some sun). We even gave Julian a film continuity haircut! But the morning we planned to leave came and went without us, Julian came down with a low grade bug. We all sort of had it. We weren’t really sick, but we all had our own grumpies and groans. Most of our vacation time has run out, and worse, it’s starting to rain. At least I had the time and energy to stomp around the yard and snap these pictures.
